Introduction & Welcome

Hello, readers!

My (pen)name is Della Gibbs, and I'm an aspiring author of fantasy and scifi romance, focusing mostly on Reverse Harem/Why Choose stories. Although I've been writing off and on for decades, I was really inspired to take the plunge and try publishing because I was frustrated with the kinds of stories that I was reading and wanted something different.

Specifically, I wanted to read about competent, intelligent, older women pursuing relationships with men of a similar age. I wanted to read about relationships where communication and emotional maturity were natural and expected. I wanted to read about relationships where no one necessarily needing saving or rescuing or "fixing." And that's really what inspired my first book.

The exciting news is that I wasn't the only person who wanted something different because at least one person who isn't me has read my first book (now in its second edition).

Scents of Connection: A Scents of the Cities Romance

Before I even finished my first book, I knew that I wanted to write another in the same universe featuring a different cast of characters and a different version of Happily Ever After (HEA). That book is currently scheduled for release in May 2026.

I'm planning on a third, connected but standalone book in the series which will hopefully be released in late 2026 or early 2027. (More on this in a separate post).

An important note - I write as a hobby, not as a potential career or with dreams of becoming rich and/or famous. I write because I enjoy telling stories, and if or when I don't enjoy it anymore or have no more stories to tell, I will probably stop writing. But while I'm here and enjoying it, hopefully someone else is too.
