This book was my first attempt at writing something with the intent to share/publish it. OmegaVerse (OV) stories were my first introduction to Reverse Harem (RH) books. After reading several cozy OV, I thought to myself - I can do that. The problem was, I was not a fan of the desperately poor, suffering Omega and the wealthy savior Alphas (for a lot of reasons). I was also not a fan of long, drawn out, miscommunication tropes that a 5-minute conversation could have addressed. So I decided to flip the script. And that’s how Scents of Belonging came into being.
In writing Emily, I wanted to create a smart, wealthy FMC - someone who knows and recognizes her own worth. And I loved the idea of her being in a position to help her men instead of the other way around. I wanted to create characters who both know how to communicate in healthy ways and are willing to do that (this theme carries through to all of my work, hopefully).
